Baby Ender is getting old enough to realize that when the camera is on him, it's time to ham it up!
In this one he's honing his wizarding skills, and trying to cast a spell on this rubber ball (it was just plain blue before he started).
He's reached that age when he knows he's supposed to smile for the camera, but he's not old enough to know that this kind of smile just makes him look crazy.
He holds his own bottle most of the time these days, and sometimes he drinks himself under the table.
Daddy's a big copycat!
He's getting a lot more vocal these days. His favorite word is mamamamama, and dadadadada is helping him say it really fast for gramamamamama.
Ender has been making all kinds of leaps toward becoming a real boy during the past few weeks! He's almost ready to start crawling, and he constantly baby-talks with his one word vocabulary. Mamamamama...
What should any good parent do when they find their child asleep in a big fluffy snowsuit?
Put shoes on his face, of course!
How many ways can you tell that Daddy was in charge when this picture was taken?
Ender is sitting up on his own these days!
Bathtime is a lot more fun now that he can sit up.
Ender also sticks his tongue out at everyone and everything... he's out to lick the whole world!
Any time, any place. If he's happy, his tongue is out, or he's talking to himself.
He has that "Oooo... that looks like it would be fun to lick!" look in his eyes again.
He's also fascinated with his little ears. Here he is checking to see if his lucky ear is still where he left it.
He's almost crawling. He can rotate on his tummy, but mostly he just rolls around the room.
Here's a video compilation of some of his recent babyness.
Aunt Cindy stayed with us for a month to take care of Baby Ender. And with the holidays wrapping up, it was a busy month!
Amy, Ender, and Cindy at Rockefeller Center to see the tree. We also saw Maggie Gyllenhaal, but Batman was nowhere to be found (ninjas are tough to spot, especially in a crowd that big).
Pretty pretty lights at 30 Rock.
We went to the haunted movie theater to see Oliver, and during halftime the rotating organ guy played a bunch of Christmas songs.
We went to Washington DC to visit the Urtons (not pictured here) for New Years. What is pictured here is Ender and I taking a nap together in the display furniture at a store.
We also met-up with Tami and Eddie for lunch.
Ender had his own chair to sit in! Some kind of weird highchair, which was interesting, but very uncomfortable.
Cindy and Amy. Amy loved the bottles they brought to our table.
Ender and Amy both with furry hoods.
At the White House a few weeks before the Obamas moved in.
Washington Monument.
The National Mall was crawling with evil squirrels from hell.
We went to Marrakesh for Ron's birthday party.
Marianne was able to join us for dinner!
We saw a belly dancing show, which Ender loved until everyone started clapping, then he got scared. Our dancer had braces, and was quite deft at balancing a sword on her head.
We went to Mt Vernon to see George Washington's house, and the visitor's center was all decorated for Christmas.
Apparently George Washington used to bring a camel to his house every Christmas, and the tradition continues. Ender loved the camel!
This year we weren't able to visit our families for Christmas. Fortunately we had Cindy staying with us, so we were able to have family with us, which was nice. Here are some of the highlights from Christmas!
Our little tree surrounded by presents.
Poor Ender was afraid of the Christmas tree.
Ender wanted to open this present! Or eat it... we were never quite sure.
He likes chewing the corners off of his presents, just like daddy.
Is he opening that present, or trying to eat it?
Ender wearing a pretty bow on his head, and a tough-guy scratch on his nose.
Ender got a lot of books for Christmas, which is good because he loves to snack on them.
The reason we went to Hawaii in the first place was so we could be there when Rod and Tanya got married. Now that you've seen the rest of our trip to Hawaii, here are a few pictures from the wedding day. Mahalo!
Ender looking all mafia... as usual.
Kimi, Barb, Ender, Jenna
Brenden trying to look cool like grandpa.
Cheryl handing out the leis.
I'm ready for my closeup!
Waiting for Rod and Tanya to come outside.
The happy couple!
Now that they're married, they're allowed to kiss.
The whole family (minus everybody who was following the photographer around every square inch of the temple grounds on a photo shoot).
Ender glad to be out of his little suit.
Nothing says "I don't live here, I'm just visiting" like matching Hawaiian print clothes.
